About Kingfisher Church

In 1993, a group of just twelve people set out to start a church with a difference – a place where ordinary, “non religious” people could come and make a life-transforming discovery that they matter to God and that they matter to other people. That group of people – now a much larger group, numbering over 300 – believed that Church should be the place where people can go and find help when life falls apart, a sense of belonging in the face of growing isolation in society, and a sense of purpose as they discover who God made them to be and what they should be doing with their lives. 2006 saw the launch of Kingfisher Elmbridge, and with it the launch of the Kingfisher network in the UK. Kingfisher isn’t a traditional church for “religious” people – it’s a place for ordinary people who want their lives to be transformed and who want to be part of a growing community of people of all ages and backgrounds who are discovering the truth of Jesus’ words: “My purpose is to give LIFE in all its fullness” (John 10:10, The Living Bible).
